Dr Alaric Fisher - Senior Scientist
Research
This has included biological surveys in many habitats throughout the Top End and wider tropical savannas and a variety of research projects examining the biogeographic patterning of plants and animals, and the impacts of land management regimes on biodiversity.
One focus of this research has been the effects of cattle grazing, and the conservation of biodiversity on pastoral lands and Alaric has had overmuch fieldwork experience in the drier savannas of central NT.
Alaric is also interested in biodiversity monitoring, efficient methods for assessing biodiversity condition, incentives for off-reserve conservation, climbing around on rocks and catching nice animals. Alaric is also a project leader with the Tropical Savannas CRC.
